Nayax GmbH announced an important partnership with Giropay. Through the partnership, Nayax has integrated one of Germany’s most popular payment methods, Giropay, into its digital wallet, Monyx. This integration will allow consumers to purchase goods or services at automated machines with Nayax devices throughout the country via the digital wallet.
There are 100 million Girocards in circulation in Germany, and 1 million points of sale (POS) throughout the country that accept Girocards, making it one of the country’s most popular payment methods. Girocards require a German bank account but can be dual branded with Mastercard and Visa.
Monyx Wallet is a payment and engagement app that allows operators to engage with consumers by creating loyalty programs, discounts and marketing campaigns. This app allows consumers to make purchases at automated machines with Nayax devices. Consumers can simply top up their Monyx Wallet balance with their Girocard and pay for snacks and drinks at a vending machine with their phone.
“We’re here to serve our customers in the best possible way,” Csaba Schulz, general manager of Nayax GmbH, said in the announcement. “This includes continual development and new integrations so that we can offer as many payment methods as possible to our end customers, allowing them to choose the way they pay, and providing them with a seamless payment experience.”
