Worldline, a global leader in payments services, announced it has partnered with SV365 Technologies, a leading provider of cutting-edge solutions in the foodservice industry, and Sodexo, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and foodservice solutions, to launch the 24/7 Deli automated food court, providing frontline healthcare workers with continuous access to nutritious fresh food at any time of the day or night.
The 24/7 Deli, located within the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent, features state-of-the-art touchscreen ordering and cashless payment systems. The solution has been designed for hospitals to meet the latest customer expectations, offering a seamless and convenient dining experience for both staff and visitors.
Following its successful implementation, the concept will subsequently be rolled out across relevant Sodexo sites and segments, initially across Central England, which began in September 2023, transforming the dining experience for healthcare facilities across the U.K., according to the announcement.
Technological highlights include:
- Android terminals, accepting all payments and with the ability to accept chip and pin transactions, meeting the latest PCI and PTS security standards.
- Interchange ++ pricing, allowing customers to always pay the correct rates for transactions, whatever the currency.
- Next-day settlement of funds, allowing merchants to retrieve their funds quickly and efficiently the day after a purchase is made.
- Ability to develop Android applications to work on the terminal and deliver added value for the customer.
- Intuitive ordering and cashless payment with an average three-minute order-to-serve time.
Nicolas Dejonghe, head of vending and adjacent markets at Worldline, said in the announcement: “We are delighted to be working with our partners at both SV365 Technologies and Sodexo. Our collective expertise has enabled us to bring a truly refreshing outlook to self-service kiosks within the healthcare sector, providing new services, meeting the latest customers’ expectations, while improving the wellbeing of staff and visitors. This 24/7 Deli project shows how much self-service can be reinvented with smart concepts, combining appealing self-service machines, smooth digital payments, varied product offerings and creative merchandising. We look forward to seeing the 24/7 Deli rolled out across the country.”
Walter Gill, founder of SV365, added in the announcement: “The 24/7 Deli automated food court was conceived during Covid by SV365 Tech as a positive solution for the future of 24/7 hot food requirements. The quality of the food served and the ease of use by consumers were key factors in the development – being a long-term partner of Worldline, the Valina was the obvious choice for the payment solution, with the pin-on-glass feature ensuring that consumers have an easy way to pay.”
Simon Lilley, director of strategy and marketing, Health & Care Sodexo UK & Ireland, and Militsa Pribetich-Gill, head of product innovation, Sodexo UK, continued in the announcement: “As a strategic partner to many NHS hospitals, it is important for us to continue to innovate and to provide new and exciting initiatives such as the 24/7 Deli. Through our new automated retail solution, we’ll be able to play our part every day, by serving frontline teams, visitors and patients. Together with Worldline, we are happy to provide an innovative and smooth end-to-end user experience, from nutrition – our core competence – through user-friendly kiosk distribution all the way to payment.”
