June 19, 2024
Mondelēz will manufacture, market, distribute and sell Lotus Biscoff brand in India, expanding the brand's presence in the Indian cookie market.

A new strategic partnership Mondelēz International and Lotus Bakeries seeks to amplify the reach of the Biscoff brand in India. The partners also have agreed to work together to introduce innovative co-branded chocolate products in Europe.

The collaboration leverages Mondelēz’s distribution network and market presence to expand the availability of Biscoff cookies throughout India. Lotus Bakeries, known for its caramelized Biscoff cookies, anticipates substantial growth and enhanced visibility in the dynamic Indian market through Mondelēz’s local expertise, according to a press release. This expansion aligns with Lotus Bakeries’ global strategy to broaden its footprint across key demographics.

Simultaneously, Mondelēz and Lotus Bakeries will collaborate on developing chocolate offerings that marry the indulgent appeal of Cadbury and Milka with the distinctive crunch and flavor profile of Biscoff. The first co-branded chocolate products are slated to debut in early 2025 across the United Kingdom and Europe, promising consumers an array of new tastes and formats.

Dirk Van de Put, chair and CEO of Mondelēz International, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s potential in a statement. "This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering premium brands to consumers worldwide," he remarked.
