Betson Enterprises team members joined staff from Jersey Cares in Carlstadt, New Jersey, to fill bags for veterans experiencing homelessness with necessities such as first aid kits, hygiene products, rain ponchos, flashlights and other items. Team members also created no-sew fleece blankets to provide veterans warmth and comfort during the winter.
Betson Enterprises, headquartered in Carlstadt, is a division of H. Betti Industries Inc. and is a leading worldwide distributor of arcade and amusement equipment, parts and service.
Jersey Cares is a nonprofit organization established in 1993 that works to increase civic engagement in New Jersey by coordinating volunteer opportunities to address community-identified needs.
“Partnering with Jersey Cares allows for individualized corporate volunteer initiatives designed expressly for our employees to address community-identified needs,” Evelyn Cortes, human resources director for Betson Enterprises, said in the announcement. “Supporting Veterans is an important initiative for the organization, and we are pleased to be able to create a volunteer event that allows our team members to show our support.”
Team members from Betson’s other offices across the country wrote personalized cards for veterans to thank them for their service. All completed Veterans Hope Packs will be donated to Backpacks for Life.
