Feeding the Future Announces 2019 5K Race & Gold Sponsors

March 12, 2019

CHATTANOOGA, TN – Feeding the Future, the 501(c)3 charitable foundation startup launched by Five Star Food Service in 2017, has announced its annual 5K race date – April 6, 2019.

Last year’s inaugural event saw proceeds top $20,000 which resulted in more the 80,000 meals being given to kids who battle hunger daily across Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. This year, the organization has set a goal to nearly double the event’s impact – to generate over 150,000 meals!

Fundraising and registration for the 2019 race are trending well to far surpass last year and hit this year’s event goal thanks in part to a trio of Gold Sponsors: Fifty-Five Focus: Strategic Sales Management, Celsius, and USA Technologies.

Fifty-Five Focus, led by the Richardson family, has been a pillar of support for Feeding the Future both financially and through thought leadership from the very beginning. Celsius, the popular fitness drink, is well known for their support of active lifestyles through their innovative products and sponsorship of obstacle course mud-run series, Tough Mudder. Payment solutions provider, USA Technologies, like Fifty-Five Focus, has been a staunch supporter of the charity from inception.

The day will feature a competitive 5K race, an untimed 1 Mile fun run (or walk), and a Hunger Dash for kids. The event will take place at Greenway Farms Park in Chattanooga beginning at 9:00AM. Early-bird pricing of only $25 for the 5K is in effect until March 15th.

For each registered 5K participant approximately 50 meals will be donated to local food banks to support kids sack pack and summer feeding programs. Also, each 5K runner will receive a commemorative super-soft tech race shirt. Prizes valued over $3,000 will be awarded to the top 3 overall finishers and top 3 in each age division for both males and females in the competitive 5K race.
