DES MOINES, IOWA – April 14, 2017 – U-Select-It, Inc.’s (USI) Northeast USA and Latin American Sales Manager, Jerry Gutierrez, announced that he will retire effective April 30. Gutierrez’ 12-year tenure with USI caps a 54-year career in the vending industry. Prior to joining USI in 2004, Mr. Gutierrez was a Regional Sales / Technical Manager at MEI.
As Regional Sales Manager with USI, Mr. Gutierrez is responsible for providing equipment and technical sales support to current and prospective clients within the northeast United States and Latin America. In this role, Mr. Gutierrez, through exceptional leadership and sales acumen, has been responsible for developing and growing the client base within his territory. This success was made possible through Mr. Gutierrez’s strong focus on regular communication, on-site visits, and attention to changing customer needs as well as identifying sales opportunities within new channels.
Mr. Gutierrez began his career in 1963 with the Vendo Company. He joined the company with the responsibility of refurbishing Vendo equipment and worked his way through the ranks of the company. His last role at Vendo, prior to joining Mars Electronics in 1977, was Manager, Technical Service department responsible for the northeast United States and Latin America.
Mr. Gutierrez joined Mars Electronics (subsequently became MEI) in 1977 as Sales / Technical Manager responsible for the northeastern United States promoting the MEI changer and bill acceptor products. While at MEI, Mr. Gutierrez was instrumental in establishing distribution channels in Mexico, Central, and South America. He was directly responsible for opening ten successful distribution and technical centers in these markets. Mr. Gutierrez retired from MEI in 2003 before joining USI in 2004.
