U.S. Unemployment Rate Steadies At 6.1 Percent, Employers Add 142K Jobs August 2014

The U.S. unemployment rate steadied at 6.1 percent while U.S. employers added 142,000 jobs in August, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate decreased 0.1 percentage point from July. Although employment increased by 142,000 in August, the average monthly job growth over the last 12 months is 212,000. Full report.
