Cleveland Entrepreneurs Place Healthy Vending Machines In Five Schools

Aug. 26, 2011

Two HUMAN Healthy Vending operators in the Cleveland, Ohio area, Besma Rahim and Saba Bahrani, have placed 10 machines in a number of Cleveland schools, the company announced. They recently placed machines in University School, Western Reserve Academy, Hawken School, Lutheran High School, and Broadway Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland.

Editor’s Insight: This information was provided in a news release from HUMAN Healthy Vending, a turnkey healthy vending system. VendingMarketWatch reports periodically on vending machines by turnkey healthy vending systems to alert the industry that these systems continue to place machines, oftentimes at the expense of established vending operators who also provide healthy options.

The press release mentions pending legislation that will impose stricter nutrition rules on vending machines in educational settings.

VendingMarketWatch reports on these placements because: 1) they continue to challenge existing operators, especially in light of government regulations, and 2) these systems are bringing new blood into the industry.

VendingMarketWatch has noted repeatedly that turnkey healthy vending programs are not new and have not been successful over the long term. This does not mean, however, that some of these programs will not succeed in the future. 08-26-11 by Elliot Maras
