According to recent Nielsen data, popped popcorn has grown 15.5 percent in the last 52 weeks with estimated sales of $1.3 billion, reports Food Navigator. Unpopped popcorn dropped, and only represents 4.2 percent and $900 million in sales. Companies like BoomChickaPop have benefited from this evolution in the ready-to-eat popcorn category.
