Mondelēz International Takes Action To Support And Protect Communities And Its Employees During COVID-19 Crisis

Mondelēz International, Inc. announced yesterday in two separate press releases a series of actions it is taking to keep its food supply going, protect its employees and support communities impacted by COVID-19.
“As one of the largest food companies in the country, we play a critical role in safeguarding the U.S. food supply. In this time of heightened need, we are working in close collaboration with customers and local communities to ensure that production lines remain operational, distribution networks continue to work efficiently, and U.S. consumers have access to foods on shelves,” said Glen Walter, EVP and President, North America, in a press release regarding the company's commitment to local communities and additional support for its employees.
The company will also donate $15 million in financial and in-kind support to community partners advancing critical food stability and emergency relief efforts across the world in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, it announced in another press release.
“Managing through and recovering from this global crisis will take everyone’s support and I am pleased we’re standing up to advance relief efforts around the world,” Dirk Van de Put, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said in the press release about the $15 million global commitment. “Our purpose and values as a company are rooted in doing what’s right for our people and our communities and this $15 million global commitment will help further the impactful work of local community partners providing safety, security and assistance for the people who need it most.”
