Swiss-based Selecta Group, the leading route-based unattended self-service provider in Europe, is partnering with Sweden’s Instant Systems to expand the group’s “Smartfridge” offerings.
Selecta said the initial smart cooler launch in Sweden and other Nordic countries has been “extremely well received by clients.” Selecta began rolling out its Smartfridges across all its European markets during the first quarter of 2021.
Selecta introduced its smart refrigerator concept in Sweden last June with the launch of two 24/7 self-service workplace solutions: Selecta Deli and Selecta Minicooler.
The unattended alternative to kiosks and small canteens offers fresh and convenience foods, including salads, sandwiches, snacks and chilled drinks. They can operate with an app or credit card and are said to provide workplaces with a secure and theft-free catering option.
Instant Systems is a pioneer in the development of integrated hardware, software and remote management solutions for large-scale automated retail deployments. Its payment gateway has performed more than 100 million transactions.
