Vending and micro markets operator Sheehan Brothers Vending was recognized by the Greater Springfield Partnership as its 2025 Business of the Year. The annual honorific from the organization serving more than 800 member businesses in Springfield, Ohio, is awarded to a local business that “exemplifies outstanding growth, leadership and community impact.”
In announcing the award, the organizations noted that Sheehan Brothers was selected in recognition of its deep local roots as well as its business development in the area, which includes four acquisitions and a new branch in northern Kentucky.
The strategic acquisitions have allowed Sheehan Brothers to expand its market territory and service capacity. They include the January 2024 acquisition of Anchor Vending LLP, which added 200 vending machines and expanded Sheehan Brothers’ Dayton routes. In May 2024, Sheehan Brothers acquired 150 customers from Regal Beverage Concepts. This partnership between two family-owned businesses has helped grow Sheehan Brothers’ coffee division while offering Regal’s customers new vending and micro market services. Also in May 2024, Sheehan Brothers completed its largest acquisition, purchasing AYSV Foodservice, which added 22 employees and six vending/micro market routes. With this acquisition, the company opened a new branch in Florence, Ky., and began serving an expanded service territory. Finally, in July 2024, Sheehan Brothers purchased five accounts from Advantage Food & Beverage, growing its micro market and coffee division in the Cincinnati area.
What they are saying
“Sheehan Brothers Vending has been a part of the fabric of Springfield, Ohio for decades,” said Mike McDorman, president and CEO of the Greater Springfield Partnership, in a release. “What started as two brothers filling a need in the community has become a family juggernaut. As the next generation begins to make its mark on this storied company, we’re proud to recognize them as Business of the Year.”
“Being a part of the chamber has been a blessing for Sheehan Brothers,” said Patrick Sheehan, president of the company and third-generation leader, said in a release. “It’s allowed us to keep our finger on the pulse of Springfield and stay connected in meaningful ways. We love knowing what’s happening locally, especially when new businesses come to town, so we can build relationships before our competitors do.”
