California artist, Matthias Dorfelt, created a custom art machine that requires users to swipe a credit or debit card and in return, the machine vends custom algorithmic cartoons, according to Wired.com. The machine, called “Weird Faces Vending Machine,” reads the name on the user’s card and personalizes notes, flip books and cartoon photos for $3. The artist designed the machine to resemble a face on a wall and speak colloquialisms to users. Full article.
