NAMA Adds Micro Market Session To Executive Development Program

July 12, 2013

NAMA announced that it has added a micro market session to this year’s Executive Development Program at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich. The program, scheduled for October 20 to 24, 2013, will feature The Dynamics of Micro Markets presented by Jerry McVety of McVety & Associates.

McVety has a diverse background of knowledge and experience in the foodservice industry, having created successful foodservice concepts for major retail department chains and developed delis and bakeries for two major national retailers. He has also worked with food service management companies like ARAMARK, Compass and HDS Services. His presentation will cover the basics of the overall micro market concept including technology, product management, warehousing, consumer purchase data and much more.

“Micro markets are the fastest growing area of the vending and refreshment services industry” said Joann DeNardis, NAMA’s director education/certification, in a prepared statement. “With over 200 attendees coming out for the micro market seminar at the 2013 OneShow, we know it’s a topic industry leaders find intriguing.” NAMA is closely following the growth of micro markets and is also hosting seminars around the country later this summer.

The Executive Development Program will feature a distinguished group of MSU faculty. Guest speakers with valuable experience from the vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries will also be featured. DeNardis stressed that while the program is in its 13th year, the curriculum is reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects the changing dynamic of the industry.

“I think adding this micro market session shows we strive to provide attendees with the most relevant and up-to-date information as possible,” she said. The program has produced nearly 400 graduates in its 13 years.

DeNardis also announced that NAMA has extended discounted rates through July 31. To register and learn more about the program, visit NAMA’s Website.
