Gimme announced that Cory Hewett, co-founder and CEO of Gimme, a top inventory management provider for the food services industry, revealed his plan to step down after eight years leading the company. Hewett will remain with Gimme through June to ensure a seamless transition and support the company's largest ever implementation of its Vending Management System (VMS).
During Hewett's tenure, Gimme has experienced tremendous innovation and growth, launching award-winning products, and pioneering the creation of a new industry category, wireless DEX. Tens of thousands of routes are now supported by Gimme's platform through its VMS and Gimme Key Pro products.
Co-founder Evan Jarecki, known for his strong industry relationships, will take on the CEO role. Hewett expressed his confidence in Jarecki's leadership: "Evan is the right person to lead Gimme to the next level of growth,” he said in the announcement. “I am excited for Gimme's next chapter under Evan's guidance. I would also like to thank the countless people who have supported our journey. If you've enjoyed a Red Bull from Kroger, munched on Snyder Lance pretzels from Publix, or snacked from one of the 50,000+ vending machines connected to our platform in the last eight years, then thank you for allowing us to serve you."
Newly named CEO, Evan Jarecki, shared his enthusiasm for the future of Gimme: "Cory is a visionary with the unique combination of skills to turn abstract ideas into tangible products,” he said in the announcement. “It's this talent that has brought Gimme to this point of growth and success. We're looking forward to our largest ever VMS implementation and continuing the incredible momentum Cory has helped us achieve."
Steven Burch, owner of Burch Food Services, a customer who will soon be implementing Gimme's VMS at their operation, added in the announcement: "We are excited to work with the Gimme team and look forward to experiencing the efficiency and innovation that their VMS solution will bring to our business."
While Hewett is excited to embark on new ventures and opportunities, he remains committed to ensuring the ongoing success of Gimme. Hewett intends to pursue new opportunities at the intersection of electrification, emerging technologies such as computer vision and AI, and community development.
