The first annual combined convention between the Ohio Automatic Merchandising Association (OAMA) and the Kentucky Automatic Merchandising Council took place June 20 to 22, 2014 at the Riverside Holiday Inn located in Covington, KY.
More than 150 attendees and their families participated in the conjoint meeting. The weekend began with the KAMC board meeting and hospitality room Thursday night, followed by the first association rivalry “Shoot out on the Boarder” golf outing on Friday morning.
On Friday evening, attendees joined together at a Cincinnati Reds baseball game and shared a private deck for dinner, drinks, networking and the ballgame.
Saturday morning began with the OAMA board meeting followed by the annual meeting. Members where updated on pertinent legislative information from both Kentucky and Ohio representatives including Mary Lou Monaghan of NAMA, followed by a federal legislative update from Sheree Edwards of NAMA. A B&B Riverboat dinner was enjoyed on Saturday evening.
The meeting was adjourned with new association officer elections in which Kris Ellington was voted in as the new president of OAMA. Mike Alexander, with J. Mike Alexander and Associates, was honored for serving 5 years as president of the KAMC. Mark Cornwell, with Canteen At Your Service, was voted in as the new president for KAMC.
Kentucky and Ohio association board of directors are in discussions on continuing the combined annual meetings for the future.
