NAMA has partnered with the U.S. Mint to host a Webinar presenting updates and the status of the Mint’s research and development efforts regarding alternative metals for coin production. The one hour Webinar will take place at 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, April 23.
Jon J. Cameron, director of the Office of Coin Studies at the U.S. Mint, will also provide information on the comment period recently released in the Federal Register, the cash cycle and the future of cash.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our members to hear directly from the U.S. Mint,” said Joann DeNardis, NAMA’s director of education/certification, in a prepared statement. “Changes in metallic content, shape or size could call for anything from a simple recalibration in vending machines to the installation of new coin-accepting equipment, which could cost $100 to $500 per vending machine for operators.”
The Webinar is complementary to NAMA members. Members can sign up after logging onto NAMA’s Website. A recording of the Webinar will be available for purchase after the session.
