VE South has announced the promotion of Bob Gottlieb to the position of director of educational services.
Gottlieb has been with VE South for 16 years, most recently leading the introduction of Star Food Healthy Express to public schools nationwide. Prior to working for VE South, he started his vending career as a partner in a vending company in New York City. He then joined Service Systems Corp and held positions as branch manager and district manager in both vending and food services. SSC was later acquired by Marriott Management Services and Gottlieb became the vending manager before transferring to Southern California where he became regional vending director.
“Bob has more than 40 years of experience in food service and vending and has brought his wealth of knowledge and dedication to service to VE South. Because of him Star Food is now in schools in more than 24 states and more kids are eating healthy foods,” said Joe Gilbert, general manager and vice president of VE South, in a prepared statement.
Gottlieb’s new position will entail devoting 100 percent of his time to the school vending market.
