Over the past several years, I’ve had the privilege to cover a variety of industries as a trade journalist. From manufacturing to cooking oil and from software technology to the hotel industry, I consider myself quite lucky to devote my career to being curious and learning about something new every day. I am especially excited to take on a new challenge by joining the editorial team at Automatic Merchandiser magazine and VendingMarketWatch.com. Not only do I once again have the opportunity to learn something new by immersing myself in the vending and office coffee service industry, but I can also justify my daily snacking and caffeine habits. (For those interested, my favorite snack is peanut M&Ms when I need to pull myself out of a mid-afternoon slump and I just can’t resist a cup of coffee from a Nespresso machine.)
Since joining the publication last week, I have enjoyed compiling the Vending Today daily e-newsletter, getting started on covering the magazine’s annual Products of the Year awards, among other projects. I have also been focused on getting up to speed about the latest industry developments, lingo and trends, and am eager to continue the learning experience and expand my knowledge by getting out into the field to talk to sources for upcoming story ideas and assignments. In particular, I look forward to meeting more fresh faces at NAMA’s OneShow next month in Las Vegas and soaking in what’s new on the trade show floor.
Feel free to drop me a line any time, whether it’s a news tip, a reaction to an article or just to say hello. I always love hearing from readers and hope to build many strong relationships to better understand what you want to see covered. And, of course, I am always looking for new recommendations to spice up my mid-afternoon snack routine.
