Popcorn, Indiana® recently announced a year-long relationship with NBC’s show, “The Biggest Loser.” Popcorn, Indiana’s new line of FIT(TM) popcorn is a better-for-you snack that’s big on taste and Biggest Loser approved. The agreement between Popcorn, Indiana and “The Biggest Loser” was licensed by NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products and Shine America.
“We think it’s time to put the fun back in fitness, and the FIT into snacking. No longer does it have to be about being skinny and eating tasteless diet food – it’s time for Americans to enjoy getting fit and have a delicious, guilt-free snacking experience at the same time,” Hitesh Hajarnavis, president and CEO of Popcorn, Indiana said in a prepared statement. “Popcorn, Indiana and ‘The Biggest Loser’ are here to do just that. Through our shared values we are working to encourage positive lifestyle changes, whether that’s taking the stairs instead of the elevator, adding another workout to your week or grabbing a handful of delicious, crispy crunchy FIT popcorn to satisfy cravings in a healthier way.”
All flavors of FIT popcorn, including sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, parmesan and herb as well as onion dijon have been approved by “The Biggest Loser” as snacks that can be part of a healthy lifestyle. According to Popcorn, Indiana, FIT features amazing taste, crispy crunch, whole grains, only 40 calories or less and just 2 grams of fat per cup and is ideal for those who are looking to snack smarter (not just skinnier) and don’t want to sacrifice on flavor.
“In Popcorn, Indiana, we found a brand that aligns well with 'The Biggest Loser' seal of approval. The launch of FIT popcorn is an ideal platform to communicate our message of living a healthier lifestyle,” said Kerry O’Donnell, Director, global licensing, NBCUniversal television consumer products. “We are excited to work with Popcorn, Indiana to help fans of the show make better snacking choices.”
Popcorn, Indiana will be cross-promoting with the newly re-launched www.biggestloser.com website, its own website and social media properties to offer product information, opportunities to purchase FIT online, and healthy snacking tips.
