Vending machines equipped with Cantaloupe Systems are compatible with the Google Wallet mobile-payment service, Cantaloupe Systems announced. Consumers using smartphones equipped with increasingly-popular near-field communications (NFC) technology will be able to make purchases by tapping their phones at the vending machines using Google Wallet.
“Our goal as a company is to bring leading-edge retail technology to the vending industry, and you can’t get more leading-edge than Google Wallet, which allows consumers to buy everything from electronics to snacks using their smartphones,” said Anant Agrawal, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Cantaloupe Systems in a prepared statement. “Our customers’ goal is to improve customer choice and services. Adding this cashless mobile payment option to existing payment choices will go a long way toward accomplishing that.”
Cantaloupe Systems will expand to accommodate other NFC payment systems when they come to market. Watch this short video to see how Google Wallet works with Seed Cashless: Http://Bit.ly/ClopeGWallet
