SapientNitro, part of Sapient, has earned yet another top accolade for its Share Happy smile-activated ice cream vending machine for Unilever at the 2011 SXSW Interactive Awards, which honor the best new digital work while celebrating those who are building tomorrow's online trends. Capping off a strong year of recognition for this innovation, the Share Happy machine was awarded the best kiosk/installation award for projects that live outside the standard browser experience at a ceremony on Tuesday evening, March 15, during the SXSW Interactive Festival.
"SapientNitro has a track record of developing digitally enabled, cutting-edge brand experiences and it's a huge honor that SXSW Interactive Award judges and voters recognized our work for Unilever with the smile-activated vending machine," said Malcolm Poynton, chief creative officer, Europe for SapientNitro in a prepared statement. "Combining traditional creative advertising and digital technology prowess, we're able to apply the right mix of emerging technologies and brand strategy to engineer unique brand ‘moments' that resonate with consumers and create unique, innovative experiences wherever they are."
The SXSW Interactive Award is the 15th award for Share Happy, which was unveiled at the 57th Annual Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in June 2010. Other honors for the smile-activated vending machine include a Cannes Cyber Lion Award, MITX "Best in Show," IAB MIXX Gold Award, eConsultancy's Innovation Award and many more.
