Medical company Wellness 4 Humanity is readying the rolling out its vending machines stocked with Covid-19 at-home test kits. The tests could cost up to $149, according to the company’s website, but prices are expected to decrease as scale is achieved.
The vendable home test kits will be available through contactless purchase and payment on a mobile device; W4H’s vending platform uses Swyft’s ZoomSystems automated retailing system.
The vending machines will begin appearing in major U.S. cities in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Dallas; the first one in New York City should be operative Jan. 26 at 225 West 34th St. in midtown Manhattan.
As reported earlier by Vending Market Watch, W4H is offering two tests. The first test type will need to be sent to a lab; each vended kit, which comes with a prepaid FedEx shipping label. The second test type, expected to be available in near future, will be able to deliver results in 15 minutes.
