Medeco Introduces K100 Aperio Electronic Cabinet Lock

Oct. 22, 2013

Medeco introduces the K100 Aperio Electronic Cabinet Lock for controlled access systems. The Medeco® K100 battery operated cabinet lock with Aperio technology makes it easy and cost effective to bring access control to businesses. It uses local wireless communication between the lock and an Aperio hub to connect to an access control system, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of bringing wiring to the cabinet.

The Medeco K100 provides for real-time cabinet door and latch locked status monitoring with integrated door position, latch locked, tamper and low battery signals. It also has two forms of battery fail over-ride, including a mechanical key override feature and a battery jump port to provide complete assurance against battery failure.

“The K100 expands the usefulness of your electronic access control system by adding a much higher level of accountability to the cabinet doors that might previously have had simple lock-and-key protection - or none at all,” said Joseph Kingma, director of business development for Medeco High Security Locks, in a prepared statement. “We are now providing a cost-effective way to protect medical materials, corporate documents and other sensitive materials and tie it together into your new or existing access control system.”

The Medeco K100 is available in both HID iClass and Prox card technologies and is part of a family of Aperio wireless access solutions from the Assa Abloy Group brands.
