Spirit Airlines and Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) have reached an agreement that adds Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper to the airline’s in-flight beverage service beginning this month. The Miramar, Fla.-based airline already carries DPS’s Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Club Soda and Tonic Water, as well as Mr and Mrs T Bloody Mary Mix.
“We are always looking to drive trial and put our brands in front of new consumers, and this agreement with Spirit Airlines does that,” said Ben McElroy, vice president, managed services for DPS, in a prepared statement. “We’re very pleased to expand our relationship with Spirit by having Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper on board for the 12 million passengers who fly with them each year.”
“We’re crazy about bringing low fares and free smiles to our customers, and now DPS’s brands are adding even more fun, refreshment and 23 flavors to our customer experience,” said Texas native and Dr Pepper lover Barry Biffle, chief marketing officer for Spirit Airlines.
The agreement runs through 2016 and also includes advertising and marketing considerations.
