Kiosk-based advertising program can help drive revenue and help restore up to 100 million trees
Micro market operators and their customers who opt to display promotional content on their Cantaloupe digital screen point-of-sale (POS) terminals can help support reforestation efforts. Cantaloupe is partnering with Mastercard to support its Priceless Planet Coalition, launched by Mastercard, Conservation International and World Resources Institute, to fund global restoration.
“We’re excited to partner with Mastercard to help drive support for global reforestation through the Priceless Planet Coalition,” said Elyssa Steiner, chief marketing officer of Cantaloupe Inc. Steiner noted that the AdVantage Program with Mastercard creates opportunities for brands and operators to engage consumers while increasing revenue.
The program is part of Cantaloupe’s efforts to use its technology to provide more than transactions, said Gaurav Singal, chief technology officer with Cantaloupe, in a statement. It allows brands to reach consumers at the point of sale through digital advertising on Cantaloupe’s Engage touchscreen card readers and its self-checkout kiosks, found in various locations such as employee break rooms, universities, hospitals, airports, malls, hotels and apartment buildings.
Operators benefit from revenue share from Cantaloupe Inc. for every ad impression, and brands are promised up to 1 million impressions per campaign.
“Bettering the communities we serve and empowering businesses and consumers to play their part in preserving a healthy planet is an imperative for Mastercard, but many may not know where to start this journey,” said Marie Elizabeth Aloisi, executive vice president, U.S. market development, Mastercard. “Cantaloupe’s campaign in support of the Priceless Planet Coalition provides a seamless and engaging way to make a positive impact, no matter how large or small.”
To encourage kiosk operators to participate in the AdVantage program, Cantaloupe will launch a three-month digital campaign supporting Mastercard and its Priceless Planet Coalition. The campaign encourages consumers to donate to Conservation International, a 501(c)(3) charity, aimed at restoring 100 million trees. Consumers’ donations will be matched by Cantaloupe for a total of up to $500,000, amplifying the impact of the Priceless Planet Coalition’s reforestation initiatives.
When consumers donate $4 or more during the promotion period, they will automatically be entered in a sweepstakes. Six grand-prize winners will win a two-night trip where each has the option to attend an event at a Cantaloupe-powered venue. In addition, 90 first-prize winners will each receive a $100 digital Mastercard prepaid card.
