November 2015 Atlanta, GA—Liberty Enterprises and LightSpeed Automation have joined forces in an effort to modify LightSpeed’s warehouse picking solution for blind and visually impaired operators. Gary Nelson, President and CEO of Liberty Enterprises, is very familiar with the iPad’s voice activation features and has agreed to test a Foundation system in hopes of providing blind operators a tool that can make them more efficient and profitable.
Liberty Enterprises is an Aurora CO based vending operation. Nelson has been in the industry for over 25 years and brings his unique perspective on the challenges that blind and visually impaired operators face in everyday business. After learning about LightSpeed at the 2015 OneShow he became the perfect partner to assist in modifying the technology for blind operators.
“Blind Operators want to run successful businesses and would love to compete for vending opportunities outside of the government contracts” states Nelson. “We want to grow our business just as much as other operators and if technology gives us the chance to compete for that, then I’m excited to be a part of this project.”
“LightSpeed is excited to be partnering with Liberty Enterprises and Gary”, stated David Marler, VP of Sales and Marketing for LightSpeed. “Gary has extensive knowledge of vending as well as the features of the iPad and IOS operating system designed for the visually impaired and the blind. He is the perfect partner to help pioneer this application.”
In addition to LightSpeed’s warehouse picking solution, Liberty Enterprises will be working closely with LightSpeed in development of Level – their advanced inventory solution. Ordering inventory for any operator is a challenge, but for blind and visually impaired operators it’s almost impossible. With Level the ordering process can be automated so no site inspection of the warehouse will be needed.
