Amazon To Start Accepting Cash, Senior VP Says

April 11, 2019

Steve Kessel, Amazon's senior vice president of physical stores, said in an internal meeting that the company will enable people to pay for goods at its Amazon Go stores in a method that will involve cash, according to CNBC. An Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the company will accept cash at the stores.

The company had faced criticism that it was discriminating against people who do not have credit cards or bank accounts.

Philadephia and New Jersey have recently banned cashless stores.
