Study: Substitutes In Low-Calorie Snacks Linked To More Weight Gain In Rats

A U.S. study on rats suggests eating low-calorie snacks with fat substitutes could lead to weight gain, according to the United Press International. The rats were fed either high- or low-calorie food and either high-calorie potato chips or we low-calorie chips maked with a fat substitute that had zero calories. The rats eating the low-calorie chips gained more weight than those eating the same food, but the high-calorie chips.
