The Columbus Dispatch reports Wendy's plans to install self-ordering kiosks in 1,000 stores, about 16 percent of its locations, by the end of this year. Wendy's started offering kiosks last year, and demand for the technology reportedly has been high from both customers and franchise owners.
Editor's Note: By continuing to expand its self-ordering kiosks, Wendy's is catering to consumer preferences for machines as well as self-serve and automatic checkout. As restaurants are going automated, this presents more of an opportunity than ever for vending machines and micro market kiosks.
