Paul Nardone became the new chief executive of Hippeas, which makes chickpea-based snacks, according to an announcement by the company.
Nardone brings more than 30 years of experience from various food, beverage and consumer packaged goods companies. He was previously chief executive of Annie's, Stirrings, Immaculate Baking and PopCorners owner BFY Brands.
At Hippeas, the CPG veteran will focus on growing the company’s portfolio, expanding production and opening new channels of distribution.
Hippeas founder Livio Bisterzo has transitioned into the executive chairman role where he will focus on strategic initiatives.
Hippeas’ appointment of a new chief executive builds on an active year for the snack compnay.
In January, Hippeas raised $50 million in an investment round from The Craftory Limited, and named operations and manufacturing expert Greg Buscher as its chief financial officer
"As plant-based diets and a strong focus on health and wellness continue to become more mainstream, Hippeas has tremendous growth potential in the better-for-you snack category," said Nardone, who began his new job on April 12.
