Food and Beverage manufacturers now have more time to comply with the new Nutrition Facts Label after the Food and Drug Administration extended the compliance dates.
For manufacturers with $10 million or more in annual food sales, the dates have extended from July 26, 2018 to January 1, 2020. For manufacturers with less than $10 million in annual food sales, the dates have extended from July 26, 2019 to January 1, 2021. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) took this action because the agency determined that additional time would help ensure all manufacturers have sufficient time to complete and print updated Nutrition Facts labels for their products. The final rule reflects updated scientific information and will make it easier for consumers to understand.
