CHICAGO – July 5, 2017 – NAMA announced today that Rob Engstrom, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be the featured speaker Tuesday, July 25 at the association’s Fly-In.
“Given his experience on the frontlines of many of the fiercest political battles in the last two decades, Rob Engstrom is another reason the Fly-In is a “don’t miss” event for our industry,” said Jason Eberstein, NAMA’s Director of State and Federal Affairs. “He’ll share his views on the current political landscape and how the business community is reacting. Less than a year after the historic 2016 election, we believe our members will value this opportunity to hear from a professional political operative and D.C. insider,” Eberstein continued.
Engstrom currently directs the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s national political, grassroots, and election-related activities. As the largest pro-business group in the U.S., Rob’s work directly contributed to election night victories across the United States. Before joining the Chamber, Engstrom was director of the Division of Political Education at the Republican National Committee (RNC) from 1998 to 2002, including a five-week stint on the Florida recount team for then-President-elect George W. Bush. Prior to the RNC, he worked on former Speaker Newt Gingrich’s campaign in Roswell, Georgia.
Specifically, Engstrom’s remarks will review the current political and legislative debates including tax, health care and regulatory reform facing the convenience services issues at both the federal and state levels.
“This high-level presentation from a leader in grassroots advocacy – The US Chamber -- will be invaluable to NAMA members the night before they meet with their home state Members of Congress. I’m excited to hear Rob’s insights on what is happening, from the White House to the Courthouse. This event is a fantastic benefit for attendees provided through our successful sponsor program,” Eberstein concluded.
