Maryland State Delegate Antonio Hayes Visits Black Tie Services

Jan. 9, 2017

(CHICAGO)  January 9, 2017 – Scott Meskin, Black Tie Services President and NAMA Board Member, hosted Maryland State Delegate Antonio Hayes (D-Baltimore) for a site visit at the company’s headquarters Friday, January 6.

During the visit, Delegate Hayes met with Black Tie Services staff, along with MD-DC-VA State Council Lobbyist, Lisa Harris Jones. “It was an honor to have Delegate Hayes visit Black Tie and see our operation first-hand,” Meskin said. “During our time together, we discussed our business and challenges the industry faces today.  We also shared information regarding local, state, and federal regulations related to nutrition and health and wellness,” he continued.

“Our goal was to provide an overview of NAMA’s leadership role in health and wellness.  Specifically, we reviewed the FitPick program – as well as the association’s Nutrition Advisory Council – and our work to deliver choices, including ‘better for you’ products that fit our customers’ lifestyles and demands,” he continued.

“Delegate Hayes’ visit is part of an ongoing, grassroots campaign initiated by the NAMA Government Affairs Division to educate elected officials,” said NAMA Legislative Director Sheree Edwards.

“It is essential to our overall advocacy efforts to ensure that lawmakers are updated on the convenience services industry and the impact that legislation has on our members,” she concluded.
