Statement From John Bryant, Kellogg Company Chairman And CEO, On Kalamazoo, Mich. Tragedy And HelpNow! Fund
Feb 22, 2016--“We are deeply saddened by these tragic events and brokenhearted to learn that one of the victims, Barbara Hawthorne, belonged to our Kellogg family. She retired in 2008 after 22 years of Kellogg service. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara’s family and friends, as well as all of the victims of this crime and their families.
We are collaborating with the Battle Creek Community Foundation as the lead funder supporting the “Help Now!” fund to assist the families of those impacted by Saturday night’s shootings and to provide support to other victims of violence in the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo community. Anyone can donate to the “Help Now!” fund online at www.bccfoundation.org/HelpNow or by texting "Support Now" to 20222.
We thank the first responders, the brave men and women who risk their lives in situations like this to minimize the loss of others’ lives. All of us at Kellogg, both here in Southwest Michigan and around the world, continue to send our thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by this weekend’s violence.”
