Five Star Food Service Opens 300th Micro-Market

July 1, 2014

CHATTANOOGA, TN - Five Star Food Service, Canteen Vending’s largest franchise, has opened its 300th micro-market becoming one of nation’s first independent operators to surpass that threshold. Micro-markets are unattended convenience stores placed in break rooms of large corporations. Since installing its first micro-market in January 2011, Five Star has expanded the concept throughout Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

“This is a huge milestone in the micro-market segment, as well as for our micro-market line of business at Five Star,” says President and CEO, Alan Recher. “We would not have reached this milestone without the persistence and dedication of our whole team, top to bottom. From our senior-level Sales and Micro-Market teams to the flawless execution of this new concept by our teams in the field.”

Five Star has no plans of slowing down, expecting to add 150 new markets annually.  “Our significant growth in this very short period of time only proves our commitment to this forward-thinking and cutting-edge technology,” says Vice President of Micro-Markets, Mark Stephanos. “I am certain that our dedicated team will continue to prove we are truly the leaders in the micro-market business. Next stop, 500 micro-markets!”
