Congressman Tony Cárdenas (D-Calif.) visited Gourmet Coffee Service this past week, said Sandy Larson, NAMA’s senior director of government affairs.
“Congressman Cárdenas’ visit to Gourmet Coffee Service was an effective way to demonstrate the power and scope of small business and our industry,” said Larson, in a prepared statement. “He understands how important businesses like Gourmet Coffee Service are to the economy in the Los Angeles area.”
"We were honored to host Congressman Cárdenas here at our facilities," said Pete Tullio, CFO of Gourmet Coffee Service in Van Nuys, Calif. Tullio is also the chair of NAMA’s board of directors. “I admire how interested he was in our business and the industry. We were thrilled to share with him the growth our company has experienced over the past year in both office coffee and micro markets and shared with him the latest technology available for office coffee and micro market customers. Our employees that live in the Congressman’s district were honored that he was visiting our company and were excited to have an opportunity to demonstrate our company’s commitment to provide quality products and services to our customers.”
A former member of the Los Angeles City Council, Cárdenas has served as the U.S. Representative for California's 29th congressional district since January 2013.
“This is a great example of advocacy in action. We thank the team at Gourmet Coffee Service, for taking time to help foster the relationship with the Congressman which benefits the state association and the industry overall,” said Larson.
