The European Vending Association (EVA) will share a booth with Confida, the Italian vending association, which every other year organizes Venditalia, through its associate company, Venditalia Servizi. Venditalia 2012 will take place in halls 3 and 4 at FieraMilanoCity in Milan, Italy.

In the pavilions of Fieramilanocity from May 9 to 12, 2012, vending operators will meet to share new ideas and ongoing projects.

“This edition of our event, which is a national and international point of reference for global vending, will be totally different from previous fairs,” said the president of Confida and Venditalia, Lucio Pinetti in a prepared statement. “In our sector’s current economic situation, the organization of this year’s Venditalia – with more exhibitors and space than any previous fair – aims to convey a strong message. That vending companies are closing ranks to face these difficult years together, aware that in difficult times it is essential to work together in order to be successful”.

Exhibit space sold is 20 percent up over the previous edition. “More than 300 companies have chosen to take part with their booths, to present their products and innovative ideas at the fair,” Pinetti said. “This is extremely important because it means that, despite the recession, our companies are keeping up their courage, to continue innovating and following new paths. It would seem impossible at a time like this to succeed in putting on a successful trade event, yet I can say, just a few days from the opening, that Confida has managed it.

“There is also an increase in overseas exhibitors coming from 17 countries, confirming the strong international aspect of the event.

“Our secret is to be in close touch with the consumer, for whom we want to ensure the best possible service. In these recent years of recession, we have rolled up our sleeves, without succumbing to pessimism, and we have fought to keep jobs, even when it was really difficult to split an ever smaller share of the pie. We are convinced that the only possible way to lead companies out of this crisis is by being united. This is why Confida was very keen that, for the four days of the fair, Venditalia should become a genuine vending city, Vendingville, where the community of vending operators could gather. So the term ‘community’ goes beyond its original meaning, to indicate our common interests and shared strategies for restarting and re-launching our sector.”

“The EVA team and I are very pleased to join VendItalia 2012 and very excited about all the innovations that will be presented,” said Catherine Piana, the EVA director general in a prepared statement. “Italy has definitely become a magnet for vending stakeholders, and their dynamism and creativity in times of crises can definitely be useful for other markets. The EVA will be holding its executive committee meeting at the show on May 10, and the European Vending Machine Manufacturers Association, recently incorporated into the EVA, will also meet in Milan the day before the show opens on May 8. The EVA and Confida will also host a meeting with the Japanese Vending Machine Manufacturers Association and national associations present at the show. In short, it will be an altogether busy and exciting show.” The EVA and Confida exhibit will be in Pavillion 3.
