In its recently passed budget, the New York State Assembly did not include the vending sales tax exemption increase from $.75 to $1.50 sought by the New York State Automatic Vending Association (NYSAVA). The association lobbyist spoke to Assemblyman Bill Magee who is the sponsor of the bill. Magee indicated that he will try to introduce the bill as a stand-alone bill when the session resumes on April 17. NYSAVA hopes to set up a lobby day in Albany to meet with various Assembly legislators and ask them to convince Speaker Sheldon Silver to support the increased tax exemption.
