Apriva To Appear At Midwest Acquirers Association In Chicago

July 9, 2013

Apriva announced that it will showcase its new mobile commerce technologies at the MidWest Acquirers Association (MWAA) 2013 Annual Conference, scheduled for July 17 to 18 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel in Chicago, Ill. Highlighting Apriva’s participation will be demonstrations of its new Universal Application, which allows merchant service providers to deliver compliance and feature updates to disparate terminal families simultaneously. Apriva will be located at booth GS15 throughout the exhibition.

Introduced earlier this year, Apriva’s Universal Application is an innovative new solution that significantly improves the process of delivering compliance and feature updates to point-of-sale terminals, according to the company. The application has a common interface and functionality across multiple terminal families and communications technologies, greatly simplifying what was once an expensive and cumbersome process. Through small push updates delivered at settlement time, merchant services providers can update combinations of dial, wireless and IP terminals in less than five minutes, compared to current methods which may take as much as 40 minutes for dial terminals. Merchants can receive updates without taking their terminals offline, mitigating any disruption to their business.

“The Universal Application represents a new chapter in Apriva’s long history of delivering technology innovations that improve the performance and efficiency of product offerings for merchant services providers,” said Stacey Finley Tappin, Apriva’s vice president for sales and marketing, in a prepared statement. “We are excited to participate in the MWAA Annual Conference and demonstrate the value that our new Universal Application can bring to our reseller channels.

In addition to displaying its Universal Application, Apriva will demonstrate many of its mobile commerce offerings at the MWAA Annual Conference. Among these include its new AprivaPay™ Plus mobile payments platform, which turns iOS and Android smartphones and tablets into mobile point-of-sale terminals. An intuitive, user-friendly application, AprivaPay Plus enables merchants to process card-based payments, as well as record cash-based sales. Merchants can set sales tax rates and incorporate tipping right into the app, providing convenience for customers, and ensuring that all income is properly recorded and distributed. AprivaPay Plus also incorporates an integrated search feature that facilitates specific transaction retrieval, as well as an easy-to-use configuration tool that allows merchants to create specific inventory groups that uses bar codes and images to expedite sales.

Apriva offers a broad portfolio of secure mobile commerce solutions. Its proprietary wireless security protocol, AprivaTalk™, is recognized as among the most robust encryption technologies in the payments industry, according to the company. In addition, Apriva maintains relationships with more than 30 payment processers in North America, along with all leading wireless providers. Apriva currently works with some 850 merchant acquirers and Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs) across the U.S. and Canada.
