The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) recently announced a second keynote speaker for the 2013 OneShow: Former speaker of the house of representatives, Newt Gingrich.
“We are delighted to welcome Speaker Gingrich, whose keynote address will anchor the NAMA annual meeting,” said OneShow Senior Director LyNae Schleyer, in a prepared statement. “That session also features remarks from NAMA Chairman of the Board Mark Dieffenbach and will prove to heighten interest in the NAMA industry awards, which is already a highlight of the OneShow,” she continued.
To optimize preparation for Gingrich’s discussion at the OneShow, in the weeks prior, NAMA Senior Vice President Eric Dell will share some of the industry’s key business and political issues and concerns which will serve as the foundation for Gingrich’s remarks.
“We are certain NAMA members will find Speaker Gingrich’s participation particularly valuable, given his unique and comprehensive view of the American landscape. From health care to business overall to the current administration, we’re preparing for our members to learn something actionable and enjoy hearing his commentary,” she continued.
Well-known as the architect of the “Contract with America,” Newt Gingrich was elected Speaker of the House in 1994. Under his leadership, Congress passed welfare reform, passed the first balanced budget in a generation, and passed the first tax cut in sixteen years. In addition, the Congress restored funding to strengthen defense and intelligence capabilities, an action later lauded by the bipartisan 9/11 Commission.
As an author, Gingrich has published twenty-three books including thirteen fiction and non-fiction New York Times best-sellers. Gingrich and his wife, Callista, host and produce documentaries and are frequent guests on network and cable television news shows.
In his post-speaker role, Gingrich has become a sought-after public speaker, accepting invitations to speak before some of the most prestigious organizations in the world.
