March 1 Deadline Approaches For National Automatic Merchandising Association Scholarship Application
March 1, the application deadline for the 2011-12 National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Foundation Scholarship Program, is fast approaching, according to NAMA Senior Director, OneShowSM and Education LyNae Schleyer, NCE, CMP.
"The NAMA Foundation takes pride in its ability to offer scholarships to undergraduate students and help them pursue their educational dreams," Schleyer said. "All qualifying students should be aware of the deadline date and apply now."
The Scholarship Program is open to all undergraduate students who are American citizens, a full-time employee (minimum 40 hours per week) or the son/daughter/legal dependent of a full-time employee of a NAMA member company and are sponsored by that company. Also, the student's parent or legal guardian must continue to be employed by the sponsoring company throughout the entire scholarship duration.
Students must be graduating high school seniors or enrolled full-time in a college undergraduate program at an accredited college or university. They also must maintain and verify a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Eligible applicants may continue to reapply each year but may only receive one scholarship award.
Family income, financial need or college major are not influential factors for these awards because the winners will be selected through a random drawing of all eligible applicant names Thursday, April 28, at the NAMA OneShowSM in Chicago. Two alternates will also be selected.
The scholarship application may be downloaded online at www.vending.org/education/scholarships.php.
