Chicago Transit Authority Considers Consumer Electronics
Vending Machines As Part Of Rail Station Upgrade
The Chicago Transit Authority is considering vending machines at CTA rail stations that dispense DVDs and electronics at select rail stations as part of an overhaul of the stations' retail concessions, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Editor's Insight: The rail stations are a good candidate for consumer electronic machines, provided the machines can withstand vandalism. The consumer electronic vending machines have proven successful in airports. Airports, it must be considered, are fairly secure environments. 04-04-11 Elliot Maras
