Farmer's Fridge is now delivering in six states, according to ABC7 Chicago. The company, which launched in Chicago in 2013, expanded to more than 400 refrigerated vending machines offering fresh salads, bowls, wraps and snacks throughout the midwest and the east coast. The company pivoted after 80% of its machines went offline during the COVID-19 pandemic, Farmer's Fridge CEO told ABC7 Chicago.
While the company still offers fresh meals and snacks in vending machines, Sanders is now working with chefs in "Chef Collabs" to deliver fresh, healthy food to consumers no matter where they're working. Current offerings include a Fennel and Celery Salad by Chef Missy Robbins, Apple & Strawberry Salad with Blackened Chicken by Chef Brian Jupiter, and Chilled Cucumber Soup with Yogurt & Dill by Chef Andrew Zimmern. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of these offerings will be donated to a charity of each chef's choice.
