County employees in Franklin County, NY, will be asked to respond to an online survey asking their current purchasing habits from vending machines and whether or not they would purchase healthier items if available, according to the Press Republican. The survey will also give employees the opportunity to request specific products they would like to see added to the vending machines.
The survey is a preliminary step to gauge employee interest and wants in having healthier choices in the workplace. According to the source the county’s role is to adopt healthy-vending policies that limit the volume of high-fat foods offered. Healthier choices would be offered at equal or cheaper prices than traditional products as well, the source notes.
