ColdSnap selected as finalist for the 2022 SXSW Innovation Awards

Feb. 7, 2022

Bullerica, MA-based ColdSnap Corp. said its rapid-freeze appliance was selected as a finalist for the 24th annual SXSW Innovation Awards. The SXSW awards program recognizes exciting technologies in the connected world.

ColdSnap's technology produces single-servings of frozen confections and beverages in about 90 seconds. The appliance accepts shelf-stable, ambient temperature pods filled with liquid ingredients. The countertop appliance then flash freezes the pod's ingredients, turning them into a freshly made frozen treat that's dispense into a bowl.

The ColdSnap device was one of 65 finalists. It was one of five finalists in SXSW's Speculative Design category, which awards the best new works that use design to rethink products, systems, challenges and opportunities. Speculative Design entries were graded on four criteria: creativity, form, function and overall experience.

"We are honored to be named a finalist for the SXSW Innovation Awards," said ColdSnap founder and president Matthew Fonte.
