Illy taps Ammirati Coffee for New York metro distribution

Illycaffè North America has named specialty coffee importer Ammirati Coffee Inc. as a distributor of illy's premium coffee products to cafés, restaurants and hotels in the New York City metropolitan region.

Ammirati Coffee will also provide customer service and technical support to illy customers throughout the region, and market the entire illy catalogue that includes illy roast and ground beans, cold brew and accessories for coffee service.

Founded almost 60 years ago, Pelham, N.Y.-based Ammirati Coffee brings to illy expertise in the ultracompetitive New York tristate market, a priority market for illy.

Illycaffè is an Italian family business founded in Trieste in 1933. It claims to be the world's most global coffee brand, producing a unique 100% arabica blend made of nine of the world's best selections of arabica. The company reports that some eight million cups of illy coffee are consumed in more than 140 countries every day.
