(CHICAGO) September 2, 2015 – NAMA announced today that Seth Goldman, president and TeaEO of Honest Tea, will be the keynote speaker at the association’s Coffee, Tea & Water show (CTW) in Washington, D.C., November 2-4.
Goldman, who co-founded Honest Tea, the nation’s top-selling organic bottled tea, will share insights on brewing a successful business through a blend of passion, innovation, creative problem-solving and most importantly, staying true to your organization’s mission. An entrepreneur and activist at heart, he ran lemonade stands and newspaper routes as a child, created a non-profit urban service program, and nearly pursued a prize-winning biotechnology idea before starting Honest Tea in his kitchen.
“Seth is sure to inspire audience members with stories and insights from his career trajectory, as well as best practices for creating a collaborative culture that drives growth,” said Carla Balakgie, NAMA president and CEO. “This is a fabulous opportunity to learn from a true innovator and leader in the CTW channel. No one should miss this fantastic session from a one-of-a-kind TeaEO.”
Available in more than 100,000 outlets across the U.S., Honest Tea was repeatedly recognized as one of Inc. magazine’s fastest growing companies, expanding from five thermoses to more than 100 million bottles a year. In 2011, Coca-Cola purchased the company, making Honest Tea the first organic and Fair Trade brand in the world’s largest beverage distribution system.
In addition to leading his company as TeaEO, Goldman co-authored the best-selling book Mission in a Bottle: The Honest Guide to Doing Business Differently – and Succeeding, with his Honest Tea co-founder and former professor, Barry Nalebuff of Yale University.
Before launching Honest Tea, Goldman served as vice president of the Calvert Group, where he managed the marketing and sales efforts for the nation’s largest family of socially responsible mutual funds. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the Yale School of Management and holds an honorary doctorate of laws from American University.
Goldman will deliver his keynote address, “Driving Growth through Innovation,” at CTW’s opening general session on Monday, November 2.
