On the one-year anniversary of the Standard Coffee™ acquisition by DS Waters of America, Inc., a state-of-the-art coffee equipment refurbishment center opened at the New Orleans branch. The opening of this center signals the final integration of water and coffee services in one New Orleans facility.
The center was designed to create greater flow and efficiencies of the refurbishment process across a wider number of SKUs, according to the release New machinery and advanced tooling equipment will improve the remanufacturing process and provide customers with high quality brewed beverage equipment.
Twenty-four additional associates joined the 31 associates who recently relocated to Howard Avenue. This brings the New Orleans team to a total of 150 associates at this branch. The remanufacturing team is led by Glenn Blackwell, director of equipment remanufacturing, a 32-year veteran of Standard.
"It was important for the jobs to remain in the area, so we could retain our expertise and continue to support the local community," Perret deLapouyade, vice president of operations, brewed beverage division said in a prepared statement.
