The average American worker spends more than $1,000 a year on cups of coffee and nearly $2,000 a year on lunches, according to the Consumerist, a not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports. The young consumers are paying significantly more for coffee. For the full story, click here.
Editor’s Insight: Consumers 18 to 34 years old are spending $10 more per week on coffee than their 45-year-old counterparts. They are outspending their elders by an even bigger margin for lunch. That’s significant volume, and it indicates the younger consumers, who are tomorrow’s mainstay, have different tastes than their predecessors.
